Tengiz Bolturuk made a presentation on the mining sector’s future development in Kyrgyzstan. He provided an overview of the different deposits located across Kyrgyzstan. Tengiz also covered advantages of investment in the Kyrgyz Republic such as low electricity and labor cost and tax rates, visa-free regime for many counties, and many others.
He also talked about several government initiatives aimed at improving the investment attractiveness of the mining sector. They include the creation of the Sovereign Wealth Fund which will provide additional guarantees to investors. Kyrgyz Government is also introducing a new mining code designed around Canadian and Western Australia’s legislation.
After the presentation, investors taking part in the conference were invited to a private meeting with Ms. Dinara Kutmanova, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
